Born in Sarasota, Florida, Royce Morris is a gifted worship leader, songwriter, and works with Proskuneo in worship leading and recording primarily.
Becoming involved with Proskuneo…
He began a year-long apprenticeship with PROSKUNEO in the summer of 2006. Then he was asked to come on staff. While on staff, he’s been given some amazing experiences and training that only God could have orchestrated with his area of giftedness.
“I love those times when you can see different people engaging in worship in their own way at the same time, or even experiencing someone else’s style of worship. You get a bigger picture of God. It’s a heart realization that God is bigger than any one culture, in fact bigger than anything, and He deserves worship from it all.”
Stewardship…
Royce knows what a rare opportunity it is to be leading worship in a multicultural context and sees this opportunity as a way to pave the path for others. This being the case, he senses the responsibility of being a good steward in languages and music.
And for Royce, this means fighting the desire to be selfish and, instead, pouring yourself out for the benefit of others.
“I am reminded of the parable of the talents here. I don’t want to take these gifts God has given me and just coast, or do nothing with them. I want to, although I don’t always do this, make the most of these gifts by practicing and trying to make the most out of every opportunity that God gives me to use those gifts.”
Recording music…
Royce’s biggest project so far has been to coordinate the With One Heart album, which he enjoyed immensely. He learned a lot during that process.
One of the most exciting things about the album was traveling to other countries to capture some of the sounds intended for this project. And those were incredible journeys in themselves.
